Chai tea is basically a tea that is infused with a variety of spices. Those spices can include but not limited to cinnamon, cloves, ginger, cardamom, star anise, nutmeg, black pepper corn, etc. Added to these spices is a strong black tea to match. Some may substitute the black tea for a rooibos tea instead. It all depends on preference. Adding sugar or honey to sweeten the tea will give the spices a pop of flavor and adding milk will give the tea a smooth finish.
